Milestone: Andrea at 18 months

At this age, Andrea fully understands whatever mom or dad says to her. She jabbers with lots of words but still they are unrecognizable. She can say, mommy, daddy, ball, baby (as she pronounces as “be-be”) and mama. If you ask her body parts she’ll point to the area that you are asking for. You can see facial expressions, body language and hands on motion whenever she speaks. She can also identify and imitate different kind of animals like, dog, cat, bird, and horse.

She wants to brush her teeth and do the same thing to her dolls. Andrea loves playing mom to her dolls. She knows to put a diaper on them and before that she’s keen on keeping them fresh like dabbing a powder and putting cologne and cream on her dolls. And whenever she has food she feeds them and wipe their mouth. What a great momsy to her dolls!

She’s a fast runner and dances too well and she loves to sing and hum. She wants to scribble on a paper and worst on the wall, a lovely graffiti with lots of colors. Almost all of the colors of the color pencil are being used; imagine all lines in a wall with different colors. Indeed, a work of art!

She loves to be of help to mom and dad. Ask for some things and she’ll give you the exact stuff like remote control for tv or anything familiar to her.

She wanted to jump but still can’t but everyday wrestling with her dad and now with an additional lesson on how to punch. And not to mention her horse back riding lesson (dad as her horse) which daddy Nath is thankful for a massage-like game from her little munchkin. She uses now a spoon and a fork, but still messy (quite understandable with her age) and drinks water from a glass.

She is a bookworm, every time you’ll see her with a book in hands and pretend that she’s reading. (Mind you the book is no longer upside down unlike before!) She’s on her mimicking stage, whatever she sees in us she’ll definitely follow suit and loves to pretend that she know everything.

One distinct character is her growing temper especially if she lacks sleep or a nap.

Birthday Bash!!!

Filed under: Milestone, All About Me

Princess Andréa lizette’s first birthday turned great! There were lots of guests, nearly 150 of them. They danced; played and got crazy with all those jungle rides…we’re so very happy and grateful that her big bash went so well. All of our friends, ninangs and ninongs of Andréa and some new acquaintances from the church were also there. Friends of different races; there were Indians, Pakistanis, Lebanese, Canadian and of course pinoy friends also.

Happy Birthday our Li’l Angel..

Mommy and Daddy love you so much!!!

PRINCESS’s Milestone

DAY 1 - Opened her almond-like eyes, touched and grabbed a chord inside the incubator and sucked it, geezzzz!!! She must have been sooo starvin’!

DAY 2 - Said her first word “heh!” to grandmomsy; dad put her on her tummy and carried her w/ her head up– careful still wobbly!

AFTER 1 WEEK - She can see us now w/ her beautiful eyes.

2 WEEKS AFTER - Her first sweet smile…:)

3 WEEKS AFTER - Her first pose for her passport; she likes tinky winky a lot!

1 MONTH - Very proud w/ her head held high, it’s not that woobly anymore; more interaction w/ mom, dad, grandpapsy and frandmomsy. She responds to sounds and stare at faces.

2 MONTHS - First baby’s day out, she went to QP Clinic for her 1st check up and vaccination. At this time , she can now identify mom, dad, mama baby and papa boy. She starts some vocalization and cooing, follows w/ her eyes some objects w/ bright colors and her head is somewhat steady in an up position.

3 MONTHS - One of the sacraments of her life is fulfilled–her BAPTISM!!! Princess Andrea Lizette WELCOME TO THE CHRISTIAN WORLD!!! During her baptism rites she listened attentively to Fr. Tom. from this month on, baby munchkin went to a lot of outings including a safari dessert, climbed on a sand dune and went to an art exhibit! giggles…giggles…giggles..laugh..smile..and drink lots of milk and water! she smiles more often and recognizes mom a lot.

4 MONTHS - At this month, she can now flip over and stay on her tummy; grasp some stuffs and babbles a lot. Her first words are “ging-ging-ging” and “yoko-yoko”, she have a good grasp on her toys now but drooling started. She started calling me “mama”. Coos when you talk to her and started her first solid food–carrots for Princess the Bunny Rabbit!!!

5 MONTHS - Lots of physical activities: tossing and turning on bed, crawling a bit, grabbing things and started using her walker. She amuses also herself by playing w/ her hands and feet and recognizes her own name. At this month she started putting objects in her mouth, blows some bubbles and started the habit of spitting on everyone’s face!

6 MONTHS - She became “princess the menace”! lots of changes and improvements in her. She rolls in both direction, can sit without support, sucks her thumb as well as her toes and play almost all the time. She also combines now some syllables and got the habit of hitting your face if she gets excited. Her first lower incissor tooth came out… she’s eating more solid foods like: squash, prunes, mango, forest fruits, banana, apple and likes to feed herself.

7 MONTHS - She became the darling of the crowd! we went to lots of kids birthday parties and she behaved like a big girl. Knows now how to play inside her pool w/ lots of balls in red, yellow, green and blue colors. And what more? She can hold her toys in her hands i think her pincer grasp took it’s toll. She’s doin some body balancing while reaching out for some objects. Some words are becoming familiar to her, like “no” and bye-bye. She wants to interact with other kids but one thing is keeping her from big people–it’s her anxiety especially to older friends and strangers. she’s also momsy’s tail, everywhere her mom goes she should be with here or else there would be a riot!

8 MONTHS - Eight is our special lucky number, same with our dear munchkin at this month she became more and more energetic and the emotional aspect of her development really improved. She can now easily read a persons mood from being happy, sad and angry. And if she hears a baby or a kid crying you’ll see her facial expression is with some symphaty. She became fond of playing with barbie dolls and her abc puzzles. She became taller and taller almost half the height of momsy!

9 MONTHS - She knows how lockers and cabinets work. She kept on experimenting on things, like how to open and close lockers, doors or anything that can be opened and closed. Standing and pulling herself up on some furniture is her new-found game. She loves to stand and balance herself on the bed and she knew that she can’t do it on some hard surface areas, only on bed. She’s very much mobile, she goes around the house with her walker or while crawling. Some furnitures like our side table’s paint has been chipped off from her banging of some stuff like the brass swan on it or the little mr. and mrs. kermit -on -the -swing with umbrella.

She did a lot of mischievous things!!! Whenever momsy is doing some housework she’ll simply approach her and make a mess especially on folding of our clothes. She knows now where to switch on and off all the remote controls for our tvs’. Ask her something and surely she’ll give you a reply. And she loves to watch teletubbies from bbcprime. She started watching teletubbies when she was just 3 months old and until now she doesn’t want tinky winky, dipsy, lala and pooh to go away. in this show, she learned to wave her hands for goodbye. and don’t forget the tweenies! she loves this show also.

she’d having her fifth teeth, 3 down and 5 up. wow!!! she can now feed herself! give her a small plate with rice and chopped boiled carrots she’ll happily munched on it. She loves to eat fruits and vegetable and chicken and fish and some arabic foods too..

Athis month, she watched the breath-taking dancing, opera and acrobatic show “Holiday on Ice” and really enjoyed it, though it was a little bit long– nearly two hours. She enjoyed not just the production numbers but as well as the technical aspect of the show, especially their lightings…so wonderful that’s really one kind of Celebration!!!

It’s also her first elephant jet ride and the eureka ride, a magical ride in a flying tricycle….:) Although momsy had to do all the peddling with one hand to take it off…higher and higher, surely we’ll be going back to junglezone in hyatt plaza for more rides!!!

Her first time to scribble on her new magic slate! wow! she loves writing but most of the time the pen goes inside her mouth :)

my worm-like baby!

Filed under: Milestone, All About Me

Now that princess is seven months old she learned lots of craps from faking a cry to ear-drum crashing shrieks, baby bouncing and tugging mom’s hair, spit-on-her-face session and as well as on mom and dad’s face, eating her fat momsy toe, and what more to come? It’s been nearly two weeks that she’s onto her wormlike inching away from her pool. Everytime that we put her inside her seemlike-haven she’ll start pushing herself out and land on the floor with her head first.

Until now she doesn’t know how to crawl. She’ll just keep herself on rolling back and forth in our bed whenwever i put her to sleep or dress her up. Seems that mom dimple is getting some difficulty in putting her dress on. princess is soo active and energetic.

She’s becoming more emotional too. she know’s now how to kiss mom and dad and give them her sweetest smile.

first words

those words are still vivid in my mind, sometimes it echoes, reverberating over and over again, i’m asking myself what she wants to convey. princess was on her third month that time and we were in the kitchen, the favourite nook in the house, we’re having our breakfast, suddenly, princess the great started with her speech with all her might! “ging-ging-ging-gigng! yoko-yoko-yoko!!! aha! maybe, she’s angry or she’s happy. we didn’t mind what was really is, what we knew then is we’re so happy that our princess is saying something. one day, she got so angry and she’s saying yoko-yoko-yoko, now there it is, she means “no!” sometimes it is very hard to read between the lines of what she is saying or trying to say.

of course papsy and mamsy are very happy that their grandchild is already talking to them monotonously.

when she reached her 4th month she started calling me “mama”, how sweet! but the tone depends on her mood. if she want someting she’ll say it with a nice tone but if she’s angry she’ll say it with a loud shrieking voice. such a wonderful little bunny. so cute, yet so mischievous. so adorable and intelligent, that’s princess the menace!

baby’s frenzy!

One more day and voila! princess will turn to her seventh month. what’s new with her is her too much agitation everytime she find something that amuses her. It’s her frenzied state that would turn you to a punching bag. That’s her new attitude, if she’s so happy she’ll box you and even if she’s angry she’ll do the same. worst is her shouting act, she knows where to strike, when she wants her “dodo puppy” or a toy she’ll shout at the top of her lungs.

This little tyrant knows her way much. She’s still a baby for theater 101 class, but dare not this little pumpkin she knows how to stage a fake cry. One moment she’s laughing and after just a second she’ll be shrieking and crying while laughing.

I can still remember when she was just a week old then, she was so cranky that time that almost all of us did not have a decent sleep. I was still weak from my 14 hours very tiring and hard labor and with all the aching stitches i still managed to help them, i am so thankful that my everloving parents were here to help us. We had that dark circles around our eyes and it’s like attending to 10 babies rather than one. eversince she was so demanding, she wants that you’ll be always with her all the time. after 3 months her sleeping schedule was stabilized. thanks heavens all of us was given a break.

In retrospect, all our hard labor were given back by her sweet smile after two weeks. With her toothless smile all my worries of her of not being okay were gone. Maybe, it was my part of the post partum stage. Sometimes, I got paranoid of SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) that every now and then i would check on my little angel if she’s breathing or not. I got affected of too much reading about pregnancy, caring of babies, and avoiding bad incidents for the baby.

As for daddy, he was so excited and happy with our dear princess sweet smile. how we wished that she’ll be always a happy and bubbly baby.

Maybe, her shouting behavior will just go away on its own. let her have some of her antics but not too much to let her be spoiled.

Mighty 6 months Princess!!!

the time that my baby turned 6 months she became a bouncing machine. she started this game from this age, still with mom’s aid. it’s quite a fun for her now that she’s on her seventh month she’s more active, always energetic. what’s more is that princess started sitting down unsupported when she was nearing her mighty 6 mos. with her free hands for exploring her small pool with 100 red, yellow, green and blue balls she started reaching for things and scooping it with one hand or both; sometimes both hands are filled with ball. she learned also to lean forward to reach some stuff and manages to straighten her body again. wheeew! ” mom it’s a little bit difficult for me !”

i told princess that at this age she should learn to drink from a cup, so there it goes,we started our sipping-in-the-baby’s-cup lecture. oh my! she loves it! but mind you every now and then i have to check on her maybe she’ll got sick from our lesson 101 on drinking, coz she’s making a big gulp but she spits on her dress.

this mighty six months started to increase her noise levels with her babbles and shrieking shouts. loves to get something specially her bib and unnoticely drop it on the floor. she’s a very smart baby! she always giving more chores to do, like picking up some stuff which she deliberately had fun for dropping them.

daddy nath is on the nuts of wanting princess to crawl, so he kept on placing her toys out of her reach. but lazy munchkins doesn’t want to be bothered by those unreachable toys so she just pretended that she’s playing with nothing. she’ll cry a little and then her urge to play stops maybe, she thinks, ” hhmmm i till have other toys why not let mom carry me to my crib, there are lot of toys too there.”

her teeting started on the last week of her 6th months, just the white caps of her two lower central incisors. she’s now bunny the rabbit!!!she’s picking on things so quickly. see, sometimes i got irritated of her being so demanding and i can’t help my self from shouting. and after my drama she’s onto my antics too! she got the shouting from me! what a negative idea to give her, so i refrained myself from doin it again.

does being six months also synonymous with being willful and disobedient? at this age she started testing our authority. she’s always refuses to obey every direction we give to her. pulling my hair is one and pulling every object she finds amusing. maybe, she’s not that willful or disobedient maybe, she’s just curious on everything.

and everytime i’m out of her sight she always cry. when this will end? she became my tail everywhere i go she goes with me. so what i did to finish also my housework, i bring her to every part of the house that i go. and worst she doesn’t want other friends or visitors to carry her. this behavior of anxiety to other people started when grandmamsy ang grandpapsy went home to philippines.
